I just LOVE Stampin' Up!'s Simply Adorned Jewelry Line!
This is my necklace I made with the large beveled glass locket and sterling silver
chain. I added our SU key and crown charms. The other charms on my necklace
are from all the Stampin' Up! conventions I have attended over the years.
The photo in the locket is of the LDS Kansas City Temple that is being built
just about 10 min west of me. I cant count how many compliments I have
received on this piece of jewelry and now I am preparing to make a coordinating
bracelet and earrings.

After having to take time to get some family things taken care of and squared away - I am happy to report that I am so excited to be able to once again offer stamp classes and parties for you and your friends. The convention theme this year was "Grow" and it was a perfect transition for myself in both my personal and stamping life. Here I am with four ladies that I have met and roomed with over the years. Lucy, me, Patty, Judy and Mel. We are at Biaggis for the Utah Divas Annual Dinner.

I'm Back with a BIG Sale

After the hectic last quarter I had I am back to my regular life and routine (hopefully)
With a renovation on my house including all new windows, roofing and siding + because of complications we are having to do touchup work in virtually every room in my house (by the way it is still not all done)

In the midst of the remodel my desktop computer crashed and I lost everything on it unsalvageable even by IT

Scrap Map of the Month

Ok So I set a goal to designate 1 day each month to do some scrapbooking

Right now I am working on my sons Scout pages so that when he finishes his Eagle Project this spring they will be ready to display at his Court of Honor.

I will admit as this was my first month with this goal the day got away from me. But never fear

today Im featuring the scrap map template that Im using to create the title/cover page of his album.

I loved this idea that was fetured to create an art piece in our Demonstrators magazine from Stampin' Up!

This type of template is also perfect to create a more structured collage that can incorporate photos from all different years, events etc. that summarize a general area of one's life etc.

Right now I have begun cutting all the pieces of paper- that is the most time consuming part of the project - I hope to be able to finish it by early next week. Once I have it completed it I will get a photo and post it. I encourage you to use this scrap map to create your own page.

I would love to share your page with our readers as well.

Wild Clubs Forming NOW

Thought I would share this cute Wild Card - we went to the Zoo on Monday and had a great time so since I love this set I just had to share- + Ive been in such a Wild n Crazy Mood that I redesigned my club offerings for this catalog season

The first is called Tote-ally Techniques
It will run Sept - Feb
There will be only 6 spaces available
Each participant commits to purchase a minimum of $25 net each month
You will be able to attend the class or receive it as a "class in the mail"
Each month you will learn 2-3 new techniques. At our first club you will create a
"tote" in which you will be able to file a sample card with instructions for replicating each technique
You will also create a full card/item that you can feel good about giving away because you will still
have 1 sample for you
You will then be challenged to create atleast 1card/item showcasing one of the new technique for the
challenge of the month contest- where you can win product prizes! You are not required to participate in
the challenge contests - they are optional!

The next new group is
Big Shot Layaway
It will run Oct- Dec
This is a great option to "layaway" your Sizzix Big Shot & exclusive dies
There must be atleast 3 participants for each group
Each participant commits to pay $50 each month
Each month you will receive exclusive die(s) and papers
Each month you will also be able to use the dies and my Big Shot until you get your own while creating a unique & cool project
The last month everyone will receive the Big Shot machine
Remember you must think of this as layaway with pickup just in time for Christmas for yourself
I have set this club up this way to ensure that no one drops mid stream because of the larger $ requirements

The next group is
Big Shot Scrapbookin'
It will run Sept - Dec
Requires a ONE TIME crop fee PYMT of $40 (equates to be $10 a mo)
You will be able to attend a special Scrapbookin class designed to suit the desires of current members that features SU stamps in conjunction with
the fabulous new Big Shot Dies as well as open crop time to work on whatever you choose
You will have unlimited access to my Big Shot and available dies on that class day
You will be able to schedule 2 private Big Shot (30 min ) sessions during the 4 months where you can
use the Big Shot and Dies for yourself and your own needs
You will need to provide your own SU papers or order ahead for delivery on that day to use with the Big Shot - class materials for featured products will be
included

The last group is one that I have several faithful and loyal followers of- my
Test Panel group
This group will run Sept - June
Each participant commits to purchase a min. of $15 net monthly in SU product for the 10 months

Convention Attendee

Im back from Convention and cant wait to share all the fun ideas, product catalogs and more with all of my friends, family, downline & loyal stampin' customers!

One of my favorite parts of convention is viewing the new 'commericals' that SU makes in house to promote new products, events, trips and more. This year my favorite was

the Convention Attendee Barbie- wouldnt it be great if there really was a Barbie of this sort?

However most of the die hard stampers I was with would probably prefer the 'special edition UPS Ken doll' instead. After we watched the commercial Shelli (COO) mentioned that perhaps we hadnt payed close enough attention so we re-watched it and then a doorbell rang-

and who arrived on stage? A UPS guy!! He said he was confused because he had a package to deliver and it wasnt clear who it was to- Shelli offered to help and he said it read-Everyone here! Woo Hoo

the crowd went wild- a UPS truck covered with flames came driving thru the side stage area and UPS colored confetti was shooting everywhere!! The best part was that UPS brought each Convention Attendee " Barbie" the new RMCH stamp set. Shelli told us that we may or may not know that SU is a large UPS Client and as a way for UPS to say Thank You to SU -UPS purchased the stamp sets to be given to us. The added bonus to that is that there were approx 6000 demos at convention which means that the RMCH will also earn about $12,000 in those few minutes courtesy of UPS and Stampin' Up! Way to Go!!

Summer Weddings to Celebrate

This card is one I did awhile back when I was in need of a wedding card - we also made it at one of my classes where I taught the dazzling diamond dust technique
In case you missed it - basically cut your paper to size that you want to 'sparkle'- if it is plain- go ahead & do any stamping you want- here I used the ds (designer series) paper from Stampin' Up!'s Cutie Pie collection - the florals at base of card- next step cover the entire paper in versamark ink- last step- pour dazzling diamond dust glitter over the entire paper and then shake off excess into powder pal and funnel back into jar- voila! Now I recently came across an additional step that definitely makes the glitter stay on even better and that is to add SU's heat n stick powder- after the versamark step you would pour heat n stick powder on the surface then heat it then add the glitter. This adds one more step & one more product you would need but I guarantee you that the glitter stays on so much nicer!
For the rest of this card it is made from a 4" x 12" piece of cardstock and the curved edge is just a hand drawn template I created to use. I watercolored the couple using the aquapainter and ink pads. The piercing tool has been used in each of the 'petals' of the scallop behind the happy couple as well as following the curved edge of the card. The last touch was a bit of tuille that was cut and tucked via 1/8 punch into the brides veil area - so that this becomes 3-dimensional. Scuba - Just for Fun

I know I dont often post personal stuff but this picture I thought was too cute
It is my oldest daughter and her friend scuba diving earlier in June- Brittany
is the one in the blue framed scuba mask- and watch later this summer(althought it may have to be after the kids go back to school) I hope to reference this

This is a total Case from a swap I received last year at convention- the apple cores are created from the round tab punch on white or vanilla cs then punch again from your choice of green an red cardstocks tearing out the center then paper piece together as shown in the picture
create the "bite" on the lower corner of the card by using the 1/8 punch repeatedly - do this to each cardstock layer before gluing them together- any small teardrop, leaf or half of a heart stamp can be used to create that little darker center on the apple cores, simply create seeds using our black marker bold tip- first create a circle applying the tip straight down then without picking the pen up 'drag' a line out from the dot this will give you a nice teardrop seed - yoiu can do 2 together to create 'toile paint' hearts as well- finish off by stamping a randomn row of ants, staple on ribbon add layered verse, add stems and leaves with scrap to the apple cores and you have yourself a cute little card - for my scrappers out there this would make the cutest border for apple picking pages, apple pie pages, anything summery, picnic, outdoorsey & more

This is I think my favorite set (atleast for now) from the New SU Catalog. Entitled Always it has a traditional almost victorian feel but with a modern edge and trendsetting flair - Plan now to attend my March Test Panel class as we will be creating a card that spotlights the funky bird from this set. Anyway this 3x3 notecard was one of the favorites at todays Test Panel class - so I thought I would share it with you.
Supplies:
3.5x3.5 real red textured cs base
3.25 x 3.25 whisper white cs base
3x 6 score at 3" to create 3x3 notecard
12" red stripe grosgrain ribbon
real red classic ink
basic brown ink
scrap whisper white to stamp heart and saying on
scrap real red to layer heart on
scrap chocolate chip to layer saying on
snail (or adhesive of choice)
piercing tool and foam mat
Directions:
stamp branch in basic brown randomnly on front of choc chip notecard
attach choc notecard to white cs base
attach ribbon to back of white cs base making sure to leave one side quite abit longer than the other so the knot can be to the one side not centered
attach white cs base (w/ribbon) to red cs base
now tie the ribbon in a knot so it layers over the choc notecard
stamp heart in red ink on white cs
using the piercing tool quickly pierce every dot or every other dot around the heart
trim out heart and layer on to red cs and cut out heart again
stamp saying in red ink on white cs and cut out
layer saying on choc chip cs and cut out
layer heart on choc notecard at a bit of an angle
layer saying to where edge of choc saying lines up with edge of choc notecard
voila - a beautiful little valentine - perfect to tuck in someones lunch, briefcase or lay on their pillow with a bit of candy

What Glue Do You Use?

Stampin' Up offers quite a few choices when it comes to adhesives. Here's how to decide which one to grab:

Snail Adhesive --- Very strong and great for general layering of cardstock. Absolutely no glue on your hands, so great for the neat freak! (Tip: use several 1/2" strips instead of long ones across the cardstock. It holds that well, and it will last much longer!)
Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive (new!)--- Temporary if allowed to dry first; permanent if stuck when wet. Just may give Snail some competition as the glue of choice. It's very strong, won't buckle the cardstock and has 2 tips, thin and wide, for spreading. Not for use on ribbon as it can soak through. This glue reminds me a bit of Elmers only much better hold.
Sticky Strip --- For anything 3-dimensional, like a box, you NEED to use this. (Unless you want your project to fall apart.) Stock up so late at night when you need to create a cute gift box for tomorrows birthday party etc you wont be crying for Stciky Strip.
Anywhere Glue Stick ---This will do great on Designer Series Paper, which is lighter than cardstock. Adheres DSP to chipboard perfectly. Not for layering cardstock, in my opinion it just doesnt have the holding capability.
Dotto --- When you want it repositionable and removable. Perfect for scrapbooking.
2-Way Glue Pen --- Temporary if allowed to dry first; permanent if stuck when wet. Also works for chipboard but I prefer the Glue Stick. Perfect for glitter, especially if you want to outline something with glitter or our new duo beads.
Glue Dots & Mini Glue Dots --- Have a bow, button, rhinestone or anything else you want to attach? Use the item to pick up a Mini Dot, stick it on your project and you're done. Never struggle with attaching a bow again! Start with the minis and add the larger ones if you have larger items to adhere.

This card was another one of my swaps I did for convention. It uses Cameo Coral as a base- a favorite of mine. The base is lightly stamped with the Lace background stamp in Very Vanilla.
The flowers from Heartfelt thanks are double stamped on Old Olive CS - 1st in white and then back on top and slightly off in coral & olive. Add a bit of gingham ribbon to accent. The thanks is merely stamped in Always Artichoke and then use the slot punch to adhere. The last dotted strip uses the flower center stamp as a polka dot on Naturals Ivory CS alternating the dot in coral, olive and artichoke. Adhere all pieces with 'snail' as shown above. A beautiful card to say Thank You!

Surfin' Penguin Card

With temperatures rising over 100 here locally, this cute card reflects calm and cooling waves.
The monochromatic card base is made using tempting turqouise, taken with teal and not quite navy cardstock. The teal and nq navy have been torn at an angle to give the resemblance of waves. Before adhering take white ink & using a sponge, dab across the rough edges in a sweeping motion- this will give the white crest effects to your waves. The beautiful cloudy sky has been created by again using the white ink and sponging softly in circular motions - giving some areas more ink application than others. This will result in soft cloud like formations. On white cardstock stamp the penguin from Wild about You in black ink and cut out using paper snips. To create the surfboard merely punch an oval using the small oval punch. You can leave it plan or stamp a cool design with any stamp of your choice. It is nice to have the surfboard be a warm complimentary color to all the cool blues in the card. This bit of color technique helps draw attention to the penguin and makes the card 'POP'. Next adhere the penguin to the surfboard and layer and adhese it under the edge of the front wave. For the final touch stamp your staying in black ink in the 'sky'. Hope this cute card helps cool you off!

Because you my customers/friends & family are so neat- I thought I would share this cute card designed by a fellow demonstrator: Sarah Huizenga.
What I love about it is it's simplicity and eyecatching colors - it just says FUN
Her trick for lining up her ribbons and making it tye easily is to use the 1/8 in - 2 hole punch.
Measure or eye it- make the punches and simply knot a small 'scrap' of ribbon in place.
To repeat the blue of the card base she chalked the edges of the white in the same color.
I hope you enjoy this too cute card. Once I return from convention I will have tons of samples to share as well as new techniques and ideas. Please revisit my site often- I promise to try to have something posted 1 more time before I head to convention on Wed. Right now though - it is back to SWAPS!!Ü

* cut a piece of Designer Series Paper - I used Petals and Paisleys- in a curved shape - see photo

* stamp a flower - I used Bodacious Bouquet- in Tempting Turqouise- on So Saffron cs
* cut out closely using SU Paper Snips
* stamp the 3 circle buds - again from Bodacious Bouquet- in Taken with Teal ink randomnly in the lower 1/3 of the card
* stamp the word happy - from Petals & Paisleys - in Very Vanilla ink
* on a rose red brad draw ladybug features using a fine point sharpie marker- see sample
* using piercing tool pierce a small hole in flower
* insert brad
* attach flower along curve DS paper edge with a Stampin Dimensional so it pops off the card
