Card Idea

This card was another one of my swaps I did for convention. It uses Cameo Coral as a base- a favorite of mine. The base is lightly stamped with the Lace background stamp in Very Vanilla.
The flowers from Heartfelt thanks are double stamped on Old Olive CS - 1st in white and then back on top and slightly off in coral & olive. Add a bit of gingham ribbon to accent. The thanks is merely stamped in Always Artichoke and then use the slot punch to adhere. The last dotted strip uses the flower center stamp as a polka dot on Naturals Ivory CS alternating the dot in coral, olive and artichoke. Adhere all pieces with 'snail' as shown above. A beautiful card to say Thank You!
Don't forget to begin registering for my Fright Fest in Sept via EMAIL - mrssizzlen@kc.rr.com
Mark your calendars now for My WORLD CARD MAKING DAY EVENT - October 6 - 9-12 at the Liberty Community Center- see side bar

Surfin' Penguin Card

With temperatures rising over 100 here locally, this cute card reflects calm and cooling waves.
The monochromatic card base is made using tempting turqouise, taken with teal and not quite navy cardstock. The teal and nq navy have been torn at an angle to give the resemblance of waves. Before adhering take white ink & using a sponge, dab across the rough edges in a sweeping motion- this will give the white crest effects to your waves. The beautiful cloudy sky has been created by again using the white ink and sponging softly in circular motions - giving some areas more ink application than others. This will result in soft cloud like formations. On white cardstock stamp the penguin from Wild about You in black ink and cut out using paper snips. To create the surfboard merely punch an oval using the small oval punch. You can leave it plan or stamp a cool design with any stamp of your choice. It is nice to have the surfboard be a warm complimentary color to all the cool blues in the card. This bit of color technique helps draw attention to the penguin and makes the card 'POP'. Next adhere the penguin to the surfboard and layer and adhese it under the edge of the front wave. For the final touch stamp your staying in black ink in the 'sky'. Hope this cute card helps cool you off!

MISSOURI NO TAX - AUG 3 - 5

Good news! Several states' legislatures have passed a special sales tax holiday during specific dates in August. During this period, sales tax does not apply to school supplies. The participating states typically define school supplies as any item normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.Missouri: August 3-5 By placing your orders during these dates, you can take advantage of this tax holiday and make purchases without sales tax. What a wonderful opportunity to save some money on stamping and paper crafting supplies!Based on state statutes, we've identified the items that will be exempt from sales tax in these states during the period. YOU'RE NEAT

Because you my customers/friends & family are so neat- I thought I would share this cute card designed by a fellow demonstrator: Sarah Huizenga.
What I love about it is it's simplicity and eyecatching colors - it just says FUN
Her trick for lining up her ribbons and making it tye easily is to use the 1/8 in - 2 hole punch.
Measure or eye it- make the punches and simply knot a small 'scrap' of ribbon in place.
To repeat the blue of the card base she chalked the edges of the white in the same color.
I hope you enjoy this too cute card. Once I return from convention I will have tons of samples to share as well as new techniques and ideas. Please revisit my site often- I promise to try to have something posted 1 more time before I head to convention on Wed. Right now though - it is back to SWAPS!!Ü

It is time for my Annual Catalog Pre-Order (and dont forget-my RETIRING/USED STAMP SALE JUNE 9 SAT 10 AM my place)
Want to get your New Stampin' Up! Catalog the minute it hits my doorstep (ok maybe not the minute but you know...)

However I am offering Early Bird Spots in my Test Panel group this year - in exchange for joining- you will receive the following:
BOTH MAIN CATALOGS JULY/JAN ($19.90 VALUE)
THE 4 MINI CATALOGS ($12.00 VALUE)

DISCOUNTS ON OTHER EVENTS/CLASSES throughout the year
HOSTESS BENEFITS 1 TIME DURING CLUB (a min of $15.00 IN PRODUCT + HOSTESS SET(s) MIN VALUE OF $15.00 = $30.00 IN FREE PRODUCT)
YOU HELP DECIDE TEST PANEL MATERIAL ON YOUR HOSTESS MONTH- (INVALUABLE- PICK WHAT YOU NEED/WANT TO LEARN)

THAT'S OVER $160.00+ IN FREE PRODUCT/SERVICES (that's more FREE than your 10 month min. expenditure would be)

What is the Test Panel- How does it work?
You agree to sign a Committment Agreement that you will
Purchase $15 net, of product per months of the agreement
This year the Test Panel will run August - May
Each month one of the members is assigned to be the Hostess of the Panel
You may request certain product, technique, ideas &/or projects to be used/taught.
You may opt to hold an in Home workshop in addition and increase your hostess benefits
You will have all orders to me within 3 days of the Test Panel Class date each month - I am going to be more strict
with this- this year. As this past year , as never before, I ran into some issues. If you are unable to place an order 1month
you will need to discuss this with me and we can work something out as long as it doesnt become a regular thing.
Remember this is a Commitment! When 1 player doesnt follow thru or isnt on time with their orders - it severely affects all the other players -
(Loss of Hostess Benefits, Late Orders etc.)
**In addition for every new Test Panelist you recruit between now and June 25th you will receive a Gift Certificate for $10 to be used in your Hostess Month
New panelists would be someone who has never been in a test panel with me before and can be a totally new SU customerÜ

Now I know some of you are asking is that the ONLY way to get the NEW CATALOG? No but it is the BEST BUY FOR YOUR MONEY!
Most of my customers on average easily end up spending the test panel agreement amount over the course of the year whether they intend to or not
Because there is ALWAYS something Hot, Cute, Trend setting etc that we just MUST have! Even for my customers who (heaven forbid) claim they
have all the stamps they would ever need - and then some, generally purchase papers, inks, reinkers, new embellishments etc. Let's face it - it all adds up
Even if you ran to Michaels or your local scrapbooking store you would easily spend $15 in a trip. Why not sign up for the test panel, shop from home/work, and get all the Bonus FREE Perks and Benefits!?
Ok so i still havent swayed you?

Calendar an In Home Workshop for July or August and get your catalog FREE- yes i do offer the catalog FREE to hostess' all the time but this year
trust me you will want that catalog early! Here guests can shop, learn about Stampin' Up! and go home with 1 project they have made.

Not sure about an In Home Party? Try an In Home Class - for $10 per guest you and your friends can be dazzled by Stampin' Up!'s new products in a make n take class
at your place or mine! The fee is waived for the hostess + you will get the NEW CATALOG and of course hostess benefits from orders placed at your class.
Class projects are not repeats of my other classes. It's like Archivers just came to your home - ONLY BETTER-
Because it is STAMPIN' UP! and me! In June and July I am attending several fun and cutting edge industry events including of course Stampin' Up!'s convention. So classes and techniques will be Hot, New & Now! At these classes you and your guests will make and take home 3 projects + get to shop from the New Catalog!

Last Chance Option to get that New Catalog that you so desperately want is to of course Buy it. But why buy something so valuable when you can get it
for FREE simply by participating in one of the above options. It is only to your benefit.
Catalogs will be $10 or get the bundle pack for $18- which is a $10 savings
